Guest guest
Oops, I made the same mistake; I attributed to this message from Phil. Sorry. jp I believe that the better way is to raise the body pH by providing natural nutrition via raw and fresh vegetables and fruits, etc - to get nutrients of every type and the essential alkalinity for the body. I do make of use some baking soda when I have no other choice. Phil
Guest guest
Did you get the baking soda suggestion from earth clinic? I started trying this baking soda stuff too, mainly for reflux(the ACV didn't help me). I don't know if you are on the candida list, but the ND, Duncan on that list says that baking soda actually acidifies the intestines, much like a proper bacterial ecology should do, so I wonder if it is actually making a good long term difference on the bowel ecology. Also, have you tried borax like Ted from earth clinic also recommends? greg > > Well, just to give you my experience with the baking soda: Before I began > using the baking soda, my ph barely registered on the paper I was so acidic. > Now, about a month of using it, my morning ph is up to 6.5, which is a big > improvement. Guest guest
Hey Greg, No I got the baking soda idea from my lyme list. I have gotten a lot of other good remedy ideas from earth clinic, though. Interesting question though. I am beginning to wonder if all the baking soda is causing my bowels some problems. Since I have been taking it, I have had tons of gas. My family is not happy about this! I am wondering if the baking soda is neutralizing the hcl in my stomach to the point where my food is not getting broken down properly. What do you think of this? I am experimenting on using ACV when I eat to get the extra acidity into my stomach and only using the baking soda a little bit between meals. On the earth clinic site, though, someone posted a warning about ACV taking iodine out of the system and it does seem when I consume it, I get cold. If anyone has any thoughts on this, please chime in. -- RE: [ ] Re: HBP/"Thick" blood > > Since I began researching pH, I found out that you can have a high pH and it > can be too high, and an indication that your body is refusing the alkaline, > and so it shows up in the urine. > The best way to get alkaline is to eat your greens. Guest guest
Greg, You may be one of the few people who actually have excess acid and therefore the baking soda would be beneficial for you. If the ACV and HCL tablets did not work and actually made you feel worse, the baking soda should help. -- RE: [ ] Re: HBP/"Thick" blood > > > > Since I began researching pH, I found out that you can have a high > pH and it > > can be too high, and an indication that your body is refusing the > alkaline, > > and so it shows up in the urine. > > The best way to get alkaline is to eat your greens. Guest guest
I use to have acid reflux so bad it would burn my throat. I tried tums but I would still wake up at night with the burning in my throat (not to mention the stomach) Then I started the baking soda. I did this on my own. I took 1 teaspoon in about 4 ounces of water when I got up in the morning. Through the day anytime I felt a burning in my stomach I would take the same again for immediate relief. Then I took the same before going to bed. Now I only get the burning if I eat certain foods in large quantities. And no more reflux at all. I don't take it nearly as often (almost never at the large dose) anymore but since my drinking water (I'm on a well) is so acidic I add 1/2 teaspoon baking soda to about 1 1/2 quarts of water for drinking. I found that if I don't the burning will start to come back. Okie dreaminginnoother wrote: > I am not sure what to think of the baking soda thing.
