Guest guest
I think we heal by our love and our touch, and we erroneously think it is the medicine we are giving that is doing the healing. The placebo effect sheds doubt on the power of the drug to heal, and places the power in the mind, in what we believe. Bill Moyer did a special called Healing and the Mind for PBS in the 80's or 90's. I watched it, and it impressed me. When I was in Hawaii in 2004, my foot slipped off a soccer ball sized rock that was being washed over by waves, and then my tail landed on it. It severely traumatized me, not to mention the extreme agony and pain. I was in shock, couldn't get up, my husband had to help me up, he helped me off the lava flow where the rock was, thank god the top of the rock was rounded and not sharp! I got to shore and immediately began to black out. I crouched near a rock, using it for support, put my head down and waited for the blood to return to my head. After about 15 minutes, it wasn't much better, but we needed to move, it was getting dark. I had my hubby help me to the car. I was still light headed, so had to walk with my head at the same level as my heart, so I held onto his waist pack and walked bent over at the waist. We got to town and the clinic was already closed, but luckily someone had called and they were open just for that. A broken leg. The doctor examined me and determined there was no internal bleeding, told me to pack it in ice and rest. I called the only chiropractor in town the next morning and he saw me that afternoon. I could hardly walk. I carefully laid face down on his table and he began to "talk" to my body with his hands. It wasn't chiropractic, there were no adjustments that went pop or crack. Instead he started at my neck and gently connected with my spasming muscles and the touch, done with such love, attention, and carefulness, gradually relaxed all the muscles in my back, especially on my tail bone, where there was a deep bruising from the impact. He told me to go home and ice it. I got off the table and was able to jump up and down! I was so excited to be relaxed again! I saw him twice more before we left Hawaii and came home. It was months before it completely healed. But his touch and care took my body 90% of the way. Now, if he'd given me any herb or tincture or homeopathic, I would probably think that it was key in my recovery. But he didn't. So we take our supplements and believe they help and that belief is key, it's like an amplifier for our good or our detriment. I learned in massage school that our body has its own pharmacy, that it can make any drug our body needs, that we need to trust that divine wisdom that is within each of us. And if you ever need a chiropractor or energy work while in Hana, call Dr , he is awesome! And quite reasonable! Kathy
Guest guest
I really agree with your post. I was looking up an listening to the radio talk that Adam Abraham had with (the long time user of MMS) and I noticed on the left side of the page there was alot of other interviews that he had done. one caught my eye on 'chronic reverse polarity' it was an excellant interview. listen to it if you can I know you would enjoy it, I loved it. > > I think we heal by our love and our touch, and > we erroneously think it is the medicine we are > giving that is doing the healing. > The placebo effect sheds doubt on the power of > the drug to heal, and places the power in the > mind, in what we believe. > Bill Moyer did a special called Healing and the > Mind for PBS in the 80's or 90's.
