For what seemed like forever, all my dd

drew was rainbows with either single crayon lines, or one day someone showed

her how to hold a fistful of colours at once and draw and then that was all she

would do “forever”.  By

forever, I guess this stage lasted a couple of years but now she draws all

sorts of things, it just took ages to get past rainbows – she is now 8 ½ and

I would say she has only really begun drawing things in the last year, she also

for ages had stick people with tails and no hands etc etc way below her age in

ability but I would say she is finally on her way to catching up now.

My 6 year old AS son has been coloring these wild pictures with crayons

for about three months now. He uses every color in the box, but only small

lines of different colors all over the paper. The pictures look like rainbow

coloring. All of his drawings from school look the same way. I guess it shows

his strong, intense, focusing ability. Has anyone else heard of this?
