Guest guest
So here is where we are so far: My son is almost 27 and has DS. He is on SSD, Medicare A and B. He is covered (as long as I live) on my medical, dental, prescription plans. PACT called me and told me I had to jump now as new fudning was coming in soon. I applied for Medicaid and they qualified him with a $485.00 spend down which they only sent him a card for Dec. and Jan. and he will probably be canceled after a few months for not meeting his spend down. (thank God he is healthy right now) I just filled out the papers and mailed them today to apply for HBWD and hopefully they will let him buy in at about $69.00 a month. And am finishing up his processes for PACT even tho PACT already send his packet in to apply for Home Base assistance. We had his physical done today so now we sit and wait. We also had his state ID updated (no charge) and they gave me a form to have the doctor fill out (LOL just went there) called the Application for Illinois Disabled Person Identification Card. The lady said it is not only free but you get other perks with it like maybe you can get a free fishing license or something. Does anyone know any info on that? We have an appointment for Sept at the Adult DS Clinic in Park Ridge. This feels good, getting this stuff in motion. Now I will sit and wait, right?
