I wondered if any of you have gone through the process of changing

Medicaid coverage from a child who is under 21 and adopted (so really

through DCFS) to the 'regular' Medicaid coverage (no longer eligible

through DCFS)? Hope this makes sense?!?!

The family I am trying to help was told by HFS that they have to re-

apply for Medicaid but DCFS told them they just had to give them a

paper stating she is no longer covered through DCFS because of being

21 years old?

Any guidance would help with this since she turns 21 in April and we

are worried about there being a gap in coverage.

Thanks!
