I write mine on a sheet of paper, and then have those "senior" moments and forgot where I put it. I am going right now and set up a prayer vase. Thanks for sharing that idea. I am so sorry to hear that you are diagnosed with A but there are treatments out there. You just have to educate yourself really well and dont be afraid to ask for a second opinion. It is your body and you dont want to be a labrat for any doc !!! (I felt like one with my first doc.......he did my dilations from a book !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! he had no experience whatsoever).Anyway, again......thank you for this email and your prayers. I joined this group 5 days ago and I am inspired by all the good people going through such a devasting illness, but so willing to help someone else. All we read in the papers and see on the news is so negative. I believe they need to take a page from our book. I thought I had problems, but in reading others, it has put mine into perspective. I do believe in turning over our troubles to our higher power (in my case, Our Lord), so when someone asks for prayers, or I say the words that I will remember them, I mean it. Since I signed on, I have promised so many people that I decided I needed a "prop". I took a small vase to sit on my desk, and each time I promise someone I will remember them in my prayers, I write their name on a piece of paper and put it in my "prayer vase". Each time I glance at the vase, I say a quick prayer for all my new friends. It may be silly, but that way I feel like I am keeping a promise. I am a person who needs a "prop" and this really fills the bill! Thank you all for your help and inspiration. This disease is new to me (just diagnosed 1 week ago with Achalasia AND Myasthenia Gravis) so I am alot overwhelmed and a little informed. I am trying to change that and will try to assist others while a pull help from you. Thank you. I can truly say I now have friends around the world! At one time she was on a vent, had a feeding tube, and the doctors gave little hope. Many people at my church and my friends as well as myself have prayed long and hard for her recovery. At this time she has been off the vent since May, the feeding tube is gone. They said her vocal chords were paralyzed, but she talks very well, although her voice is changed. She will be seeing an ENT on the 12th to see if the trach can come out. Prayer is the only reason she overcame her illness, there is no doubt in my mind. And I have always believed there is power in numbers. Just like Kathy said, God gives us an answer,it may not be the one we want to hear. Sometimes it is an silent answer----one that to which we actually see no immediate results. But he does give us an answer. Our fault as humans is that we don't always listen to God when he does answer.
