I had problems last week, but Kathy H. didnt! Jackie did manage to join us - hurray! At one point i think we had 8 people in the room, good thing there are colour, bold and italics options! Our focus is on ocd related topics, but as a support group, helping each other is also important. Everyone is invited, and if you have never participated in a chat before, dont worry, this is a very easy one to use. Some of you may prefer to just connect and read for a while. Jump in when you are ready! I'll do my best to repost directions and reminders on Fridays. Next Sunday night, June 18th, is Fathers Day - perhaps we can ask some of the dad's to join the chat and discuss issues that effect them (such as full time work and coming home to help out, marital issues, enabling, when to interfere,... yes, the same topics that effect the mom's!) I had the same " applet chat " problem last week and just kept trying, and was eventually able to join. I think it's a problem with e-groups rather than that you are doing something wrong. Spending the better part of an hour every Sunday evening trying to get in was pretty discouraging. For awhile before I finally gave it up, I could get on but almost immediately my screen would freeze. I would have to go through the sign in process again, and maybe get to read a couple of comments before the screen would freeze again. Yahoo has also repeatedly decided I was no longer subscribed to this group, though I was receiving posts all along. I'd discover this when trying to access the chat, since it is apparently restricted to members. :-( I wonder if any other server would be any better. I've heard gripes about all of them it seems. Yahoo has erased all memory of me twice in the last few weeks, necessitating that I reregister, etc. before giving me access to the site. The chat has also suffered from an itty bitty window which is nearly impossible to see, much less track back comments on. To make everything even harder, the controls are confusing too. Is there any chance of changing to another server? It is not hard, it is/or was glitchy though. It's a great opportunity to " talk " live with other list members, ask questions, etc. I've missed participating and will try it out next Sunday. I have a different server now, that may make a difference. I find the screen very slow to load, so I click on Chat and then go elsewhere for a while. it seems to load much faster when i am not sitting there waiting for it!
