Guest guest
I've also put on weight. I've put on about 30 pounds. In my case, I think it's a combination of the meds and my thyroid. I was just diagnosed with hypothyroidism. The problem is I can't get in to see an endocrenodegist.. I've called 5 and they are all booked up for months. The earliest I can get in is the end of Sept. (another good topic for another time). Not being as active as I was doesn't help, I was an avid walker before my injury, I try to walk when I feel up to it. Now I'm just so tired I'm not up to doing too much at all. I'm not eating much, have lost my appetite, yet I'm gaining weight. The weight came on me suddenly, and I can't lose it I don't feel comfortable, I always feel so bloated. There are days that my legs and ankles are so swollen lately, that it hurts to stand on them, making it very difficult to walk. To all the members who are losing weight congratulations. Keep up the good work .. I'm prould of you all. I think another reason pain patient might turn to food is because it's the one thing left that they can control. You've lost control over so much of your life, but the one thing you have control over is your eating. You couldn't control your injury, accident, how you got hurt. You can't control the outcome of the drs, insurance companies, the pain, how others treat you, etc, but you can control your eating. That's the one thing left for many pain patients that they can do for themselves. Sue C
