Guest guest
I am a 32 year old woman with bpes. I just found out that the ovarian problems I have been having over the last 3 years is because of the bpes. I have had so much testing, and to think it is linked to something I have had since birth. I found out myself by reading on the internet and brought this information to my doctor. I was diagnosed when I was about 3 weeks old. My mother noticed I would not open my eyes until I was in a dark room. I had 2 surguries one when I was 4 and another when I was 5 years old. Dr. Burns out of columbus ohio did the surguries. He placed leg muscles from a muscle donor into my eyelids. I was told that I had one of the 1st truly sucsessful surguries. His phone number is 614-221-7464 and he is a Oculoplastic surgian. I will place pictures of before and after for new parents to see. I still have some problems due to bpes, like the sensitivity to light. It bothers me terribly and I can not leave my house without sunglasses even on dreary days. I also have a problem with eyelashes growing into the inner corners of my eyes, causing irritation. One of my eye doctors taught me to pluck them out, which helps a lot. It also helps to use a ointment in the eyes at night to keep my eyes moist. My eyes come open when I am sleeping and they can dry out. I hope this info has helped anyone, Michele
