Guest guest
Kathy, I hope you feel better soon. I know what you mean about feeling tired all of the time, I'm slowing down day by day. Take care. > > Kathy, > Of course you are tired. You have recently undergone major surgery as well as having spent quite a bit of time in the hospital very gravely ill. It is going to take some time for your body to recouperate. You didn't get so sick over night and you are not going to get better over night. > > Dorothy > > > > >
Guest guest
Hey Kathy! Well...you went through hell and then some, Kathy!!! You went through a major illness that almost made us lose you...(God forbid) and then two major surgeries....you SHOULD be tired, sweetie! I know that I am sick and tired of being sick and tired!!!! I need to remind myself of what I have just been though recently...hell and beyond, and then for the past 8 years horrendous pain which causes fatigue. Hang in. It is like my weight...I didn't get so fat over night....and unfortunately it will take me some time to lose it...it didn't take you overnight to get so sick...and it will take some time to get better, honey. Hang in.....hang in...I know that I am tired of being told that, but it is all that we really can do...sometimes with our finger nails...but at least we still are! Can your Dr prescribe some vitamins for you? Have you had some Blood work to check for anemia...that might be it too...after my most recent surgery, I had a hematoma which made me gravely ill...I lost so much blood that I needed blood transfusions, and still to this date I am anaemic. They removed 240 cc of blood in my abdomen and then removed another 80 cc via a drain that they attached outside my abdomen after the surgery I am always exhausted due to the fact that the pain keeps me up almost all night..I get about 1- 1 1/2 hour(s) of sleep per night. My hemoglobin count is still 5, which is still quite low... The reason that I am telling you all my plight is that perhaps you are in the same boat. I am sure you do not sleep well at night either, and that really takes a toll on our body. Perhaps from the surgeries you had you too are anemia....you really should have some bw done to make sure you are not. Try to get as much rest as possible. Even though it is not sleep, you are allowing your body to heal and rest up. I hope you are back to yourself ASAP. I do really understand your frustration, hon. Hang in and know that I am pulling for you, Kathy! Gentle hugs to you and all, Kathy G., Group Co-owner **************New MapQuest Local shows what's happening at your destination. Guest guest
I hope you can rest soon! I hadn't slept all night in so long, i can't remember when it was. But since my Pain Management put me on 300mg Gabapentin, it totally puts me out all night. I feel a little groggy the first few hours after I get up also. But I do sleep all night now, without waking every hour on the hour. Hopefully you can get help for sleeping like I did. > > Hey Kathy! > > Well...you went through hell and then some, Kathy!!! Guest guest
Hi Margee, Â I'm so pleased that you have been able to get some much needed sleep at long last and that the Gabapentin works for you. Unfortunately I can't take it as I am allergic to it. Dr tried me on it last year and I ended up in the ER having a spinal tap as they thought I had got meningitis. Turned out to be the Gabapentin causing the rash! Â I also managed to get some sleep, what a wonderful feeling. I had my anaesthetic injections in my leg on Friday and the Dr gave me lidocaine patches to put over the implant, what a relief. Yesterday afternoon I fell asleep on the sofa and didn't wake up until 1am. Went to bed and slept till 8.30am. Got up and had some coffee went back to bed and slept through till 2pm! Bliss!! Shame it won't last as the injection is starting to wear off already. Â My heart went out to you when you said how much pain you were in I really felt for you and wished that there was something that I go do to take it away. I did have a thought. I was attending a pain management course (until the pain from my scs got too bad) and it is based on a programme developed in Australia. Guy's and St 's hospital in London run a 4 week residential course which is basically a last resort for people with chronic pain. I'm currently not elligable to go as I'm waiting for surgery but there is a book which is really good which accompanies the programme. I found it very helpful particularly the deep relaxation exercises. When we went through them on the course they were so effective that I ended up falling asleep and the nurse had to wake me up because I was snoring!! The book is called Manage Your Pain and it would be interesting to know if the programme was being run in the USA. Â How are things going with your grandchildren? Hope they are not running you ragged yet. Â Take care of yourself. Â Re: Tired of Being Tired I hope you can rest soon! I hadn't slept all night in so long, i can't remember when it was. Guest guest
Thank you, for thinking of me. Was a very long tiring weekend. Just got the kids off to school, have the morning to myself, then this afternoon I've got to get my husband off to work, then go pick-up the kids from school. Evenings are the worst time for me, during the day I try to keep busy and not think about my pain. Hope you can get help to relieve your problems soon! Prayers! > > > > Hey Kathy! > > > > Well...you went through hell and then some, Kathy!!!
