Guest guest
Why do your neighbors call the police when they know you're handicapped? Some people are just so nasty. I have the placard and the permanent tag (I have brain fog and would never remember to put the tag up every time!!). And if I'm having a good day, I don't even use the handicap spot at the store (I leave it for someone who really needs it). My apartment complex put a spot in front of my apartment for me and I've been here 2 months and have had to call one time that someone was parked in it (my next door neighbor!! that was awkward - I didn't realize it at the time). They offerred to have the car towed and I told them no. But the problem is, if I don't park in the handicap spot, I use a spot someone else can use and there is only so many parking spots in front of our breezeway. I've seen some having to park further down or across the street. But they did come and get the tag from the car and called the person and told them to move their car. I noticed a nice little mark in my paint the next day (so I guess they assumedI turned them in). I guess I did, but I told them not to have them towed and to not do anything about it....I said if it continued to happen something would need to be done. But the office got the plate # and looked them up and called them all on their own. Funny thing, most of the spots were empty when they parked in my spot. My neighbor is 2 guys, probably in their 20's, and healthy. Needless to say, they're not friendly if we happen to meet coming or going. Take Care, B. in TEXAS Re: mad > Mike -Thank you sue. The ticket due on dec 15 I see my doctor on 10 so I will get him to sign a new handicap tsg then take it to motor vechile get the tag take it to court and the fine will be void. Guest guest
, Not only was my car keyed...I had my tire slashed...and then watched as she tried to slash my tire again with a garden tool....she wasn't strong enough other then to make lines in the tire (it's a suburban). Parking is very tight on the street...I had to pay 50 dollars to have the sign put up...and exactly what you explained I came home one day and someone with a placard was parked in my spot which was fine. I parked across the street..the old lady was screaming and yelling at me and told me to call the police its MY SPOT....the next day a crippled man (more so then I came up to me and apologized to me and said he was so sorry he upset me) he had not at all...he was parked legally. The funny thing when my friend went over to try and smooth things over he realized that the women was nuts. The lady said " my daughter has a placard maybe we need to have a sign put up " ..she is too cheap to pay for the sign(which is unfair that we have to pay anyway)...anyway 2 weeks later I come home and the women is blocking my driveway.....I said please move your car its completely blocking my driveway...her response was YOU block your driveway...and I said I know its mine....she said she wasn't going to move the truck and I said fine I will call the police....then she started making obscene gestures.....after this I realized the women was mentally ill and I don't speak with her anymore...if anything I feel sorry for her. Two days later this women pulls up and says " that's not your tag...its fraudulent..blah blah blah....at that point my 15 year old daughter got very upset and started yelling at the women.....I said if you are concerned....report it to the police.....and I am sorry I cant fix stupid....I recognized the women as another neighbor who doesn't like anyone parked in front of her house....I said to my daughter watch she is going to drive by and act like she doesn't live on the street and sure enough she did that....my kids are sayihg how did you know mom.....I said..cause she was a coward. To compound the problem the city came to take down the sign stating that parking is very tight...I ran into the guy who was kind enough to not remove it....I said I am aware parking is tight..I have had to park 3 blocks away and call a friend who lives 20 minutes away to come and pick me up and drop me off.....I realize that some people think handicapped parking is a privilege that others want.....the next person that illegally parks in a handicapped spot should be made to deal with a disability for 24 hours. Right after I moved here (a 2 family flat) the guy who lived downstairs who was an athlete and about 24 rang my doorbell at 9 at night and asked if I would mind parking down the street so when he comes in at 2 AM he could pull up and run in....I was so shocked that he even asked..I didn't know what to say...I just wondered if he was on a subway would he have asked a women his mothers age to get up and stand so he could sit. Guest guest
Wow! I guess I should be glad I just got a key mark on my car!! I wouldn't have minded if the car did have a placard, but it didn't and belonged to one of the two guys next door, they both look like they work out, run marathons, etc. OK, I might be exaggerating a little, but they are healthy young men!! But you're right, you can't deal with crazy. Your best bet is to hope she moves!!! and soon!!! You never know, it could happen. I know I have people who don't know me think I look fine, healthy, etc. We've had break-ins here in my apartment complex, they've put notices on our doors twice already and I've only been here 2 months!!!! When I used to walk my dog, I would leave my door unlocked (I know stupid of me), but now I lock the door. Also, I no longer use my cane when I take Cowboy outside.....I don't want anyone who could be watching associating my apartment (me walking with a cane) with the car parked in the handicap spot....you know, so they would when I was gone. It is a real hardship now for me to take my dog outside, and some of my neighbors are probably even thinking I don't deserve the spot. I've never lived alone before and yes, I'm a little scared even though I have a dog.....he's a border collie and I think his barking would scare someone off, I just don't want to test it. So I keep my cane in the house to use here, have one in my car to use when I go out, and one at both of my daughters' houses. I'm really sorry you have such a volatile situation where you're living. Those type of people are really scary.....you never know what they might do. It's easy for me to say just try to ignore her, but I know that's probably easier said than done. Hopefully, she'll either move or settle down. Good luck. Take Care, B. in TEXAS Re: mad > Mike -Thank you sue. Guest guest
Gee I am so fortunate to not have to put up with stuff like that. It really makes me so thankful that we have our own home and driveway that we park in! The biggest problems we have had are with the neighbor across the street having aggressive dogs. They attacked our dogs amongst others in the neighborhood. They also have gone after people. The bit a little boy and the judge told the guy to fence them. Well he did for a while then no more SIGH. Anyway last time the cops came to their house they told them that the next time they had to come out someone was going to be charged. I have not seen the dogs out since. They are supp to move and hopefully they will! We have a great neighborhood otherwise. I know it could be different and I am very thankful that it is as good as it is! I hope Deb you and get rid of your problem neighbors and soon! That has to be a major pain in the butt! Re: mad > Mike -Thank you sue.
