I have to say, I just went and watched the video of the " real " surgery for

receiving the SCS. I think if I had watched this prior to my surgery, I would

have backed out!!!! I'm a huge coward. I know a lot of people can watch things

like this and it doesn't bother them, but I'm not one of them. I had to stop

when he was " tunneling " for the leads. I'm just a big baby. If there are any

other " big babies " out there on this group, I can give you a link to an animated

version (and I don't mean cartoon) which shows exactly the same thing only no

real knives or blood or fat or whatever else this one shows. I can still

remember when my doctor was explaining the surgery and he said they had a device

to feed the leads.........I don't know what he was going to say next because I

told him to stop, I didn't want to know, didn't want to hear it. I know it's

better than having to use an incision and it's amazing that they can do that,

but whew.....I sure

didn't want to see it. Everyone on here who have watched it, my hat is off to

you.....I knew there was a reason I never wanted to be a nurse, let alone a

doctor!!!! or a Vet.....dentist......I am such a baby. Sorry all.

Take Care,

B. in TEXAS

, I would like the link to the " animated " version of the surgery. I can

also add it to the groups link section.

My email is: Photobug33777@...

Or u could just send to group, whichever is easier for you.

I did make it through the whole video, but it took several pauses to

get through it. I had to pause the video to prepare my mind and

stomach for the next part.

I agree, I don't know if I would have had the surgery had I seen the

video first. The tunneling was the most painful part of my surgery.

I blame that on the anesthesiologist though.

I was a nurse for years and I had a few ew moments during the surgery the

tunneling of the guide to the leads I think was the worst. However I now know

why I have the dang pain I do in those muscles in between the incision areas.

Yes it is not for the faint of heart or stomach but it does give you a very real

view of the surgery which for me was invaluable.

I agree the antimated version would be great for those who cannot watch this

one.

Thank you for the info on the surgery. The video was great and I now

have some feel of what will happen. I have worked in EMS for many

years so that didnt bother me. I have shared it also with my family

so maybe they have some clue as to what will happen. I was in so much

pain last week and finally had some relief on Saturday (block was on

Wed) but now today (tues) I am again in so much pain. I have another

block tmrw and It cant get here fast enough. Its also so dang cold

here trying to keep foot warm and yet deal with the sensitivty.. Its

a loosing battle...
