Guest guest
Hi everyone, I am just getting my first chance to read all the posts for this week so I have pretty much been down for the count, and I was wondering it you all could help me out on something.... since my surgery two weeks ago now my back has been on fire...at first I didn't think much of it because I have a sensitivity to adhesives and just chalked it up to the bandages.....since I had the staples removed on Tuesday I have not had any bandages and well the burning has been getting progressively worse each day....my primary said to call my neurosurgeon and I did so....went in to see him yesterday with nothing coming out of it....he has me trying lidocaine patches and has said to try the over the counter creams with capcazin in them...so far the lidocaine patches are doing very little and I don't really think that the cream is going to do much more.....my neurosurgeon doesn't seem to know what is causing this - said he has never had it happen to anyone before and he has done a LOT of these procedures over the years...I jokingly asked him if I was an enigma and he said " well yes " said that I may have some blood pooling around the nerves and that hopefully it will just disapate - seems to be getting worse with each passing day....after all of the surgeries that I have had over the yrs I have never had this happen - this lead surgery was the fifth time they have been in this one area and I have never had anything like this happen before so I don't really understand what is happening now.... Any words of wisdom from all of you out there would very much be appreciated!!!!!! especially since I seem to be getting nowhere with the medical professionals right now..... Thanks in advance everyone... C.
