Guest guest
Pier, My son was aboard the USS Independence, and eventually gave in to threats and took the vaccines. I became heavily involved in the issue in March when the inoculations began on the Independence and the USS Stennis. I don't know where you got the information about the refusers on the Independence, but they have all been discharged. There were 7 refusers total, 6 were discharged (after being held in Japan for 5 months), with a " general under honorable conditions " , 1 discharged with an " OTH " because he went AWOL for 25 days after refusing the anthrax inoculations. There were 3 refusers on the USS Stennis who have also been discharged, 2 with a " general under honorable conditions, and 1 with an " OTH " because she was late to a muster and charged with an unauthorized absence. I am still in contact with most of these brave young men and women, they left the military with all benefits except their Montgomery GI bill, and are currently in the process of having their discharges upgraded to an " Honorable " . There have been many refusers in the past nine months, and the standard punishment up to this point has been a fine, restriction for 30-45 days, and reduction in rank by one notch, then finally a " general under honorable conditions " discharge. The only " OTH " discharges that I am aware of happened due to other charges on the record of the military member. This process seems to be happening a little faster now than it did with the Indy and Stennis refusers. The DOD does not have a policy for vaccine refusers, and this they claim is the reason they held the Stennis and Indy refusers so long before discharge. The discharges are happening within a few months currently. I am going to forward a few articles to you, if you would like more information, please do not hesitate to contact me directly.
