I am facing a similar situation. I have been in the military for 13 years

and I have been very dedicated until now. I have a 6 month old son and I am

nursing him. I was told that I had to have this anthrax vaccine. I called

the flight surgeon and I have an appointment to get a deferment until I

finish nursing. This will depend on if the doctor will agree. I am still

concerned when I am done nursing. I have very real concerns about this

shot. I have been researching and have some doubts about the safety,

purpose, and research in this area. I have called several veterinarians

(the military says they are routinely inoculated) and I have not been able

to find one yet that says he/she has had the shot. Then I hear the excuse

that the civilian population can't afford to get them. They are $3.50 per

shot for a total of $21.00 for the series. The military always has an

excuse that can't be substantiated. I am also put off by the fact that our

commander in chief, Clinton, refuses to get the shots. I wanted to make a

career and do at least 20 years. I hate to think I might have to give up 13

years over this. I am trying to find out as much information as I can so I

am able to make an informed decision on this matter. I would really

AFTER YOU GET THE SHOT. I HAVE ALSO HEARD IT CAN DO DAMAGE TO THE MALE SEXUAL

FUNCTIONS WHEN IT COMES TO GETTING PREGNANT. I DON'T KNOW IF THESE ARE JUST

BAD RUMORS OR IF IT COULD REALLY HAPPEN. THAT IS WHY I AM REALLY SCARED OF

THIS SHOT. I DON'T WANT MY FUTURE CHILDREN TO HAVE ANY BIRTH DEFECTS BECAUSE

OF THIS SHOT.

I HAVE ALSO HEARD IF YOU HAVE LESS THAN A YEAR AND A HALF LEFT IN THE MILITARY

YOU CAN AVOID GETTING THE ANTHRAX SHOT, BECAUSE IT TAKES THAT LONG TO FINISH

THE SERIES, BUT DON'T MARK MY WORD ON THAT ONE. IT WAS ALSO A RUMOR.

I JUST WANT SOME ANSWERS. I THINK IT SHOULD BE OUR CHOICE WHETHER WE WANT

THIS SHOT OR NOT. IT IS MY OWN BODY, I DON'T CARE WHAT THEY SAY ABOUT BEING

and have the same concerns. I have written my congressman telling him our

fears regarding anthrax. I told my parents and my in-laws to write

theirs. My husband also wrote a letter to the congressman. You could do

the same and have all the people you know write their congressmen. If you

don't refuse the shot, maybe letting congressmen know our concerns will

stop any future shots. My best wishes to you and your husband.

Hello Lori,

Thank you for the welcome. My name is Janet and I have someone very dear to me

in the marines. It will be a year in June since he signed up. He was told a

few months back that he will have to take the anthrax vaccine before he gets

shipped overseas in August/September. He was very upset and concerned because

he did not know that he would be forced to take this vaccine. I have been

doing some research for him and mailing to him this information. I joined this

list so I could be kept up to date on the latest information available. I

would like to know if you have any suggestions of where I could get more

time, when it was working again, the post was missing, someone asked

about it. And I reposted it for the " equalizer " since I had saved a

copy of the post. Shortly after that, I got an e-mail from the current

poster under a different e-mail address asking if I was a reporter.

Still later, in mid February, this post came in, but I never posted it

to the list (under the name " K. Tubbs " ) <--- yet another

e-mail address.

against DynCorp

1994 , I've had my phone bugged,cable boxes brought in

with bug. But

satelite's now it's easy. Big Brother has a contract

VIRUS'ES IN,ITS

called

DENIEABILITY ! Due something to protect your computer,I

think you all

know

what it is.It's called a anti-virus program.But it will

not protect you

At this point I don't know much about the poster. I have avoided

forwarding anything that talks about plots, conspiracys, insidious or

malicious plans etc. I regard conspiracys and coverups as somewhat

different. Of cource conspiracys can be covered up, but so can

blunders! There are sites on the net that promote the idea that someone

wanted the troops sick. I have deleted most all of those that come

here in the pending area of onelist.

If Cyphe is able to prove having worked at DynCorp during the

period mentioned, maybe this is something GAO or Shays committee would

be interested in, and that information should be sent to them. The

employemnet should at least be verifiable along with any gulfwar

illness.

Anyone else have thoughts or not? You know almost as much as I do at

this point on the topic.

I'm sorry if my 'thoughts' were not expressed properly. I simply wanted to

let the list owners know what I was sensing. Doesn't mean I was right, or

that Louis should 'not' be on the list. I do agree that

" When we close the doors and windows to keep the bad weather out, we

also

keep out the fresh air. " However the potential to 'chase a wild goose' to

detract us from our goals is a great temptation. Diversionary .. my

comments were not meant to be a personal attack on anyone and I apologize if

I honestly don't think anyone was offended by your comments. I certainly

wasn't. It's just that as a UK veteran I often find that there are great

waves of fear and suspicion which emanate from the lists on the US side and

it is so sad. Sad that such a great nation with so many loving, welcoming,

caring people with open hearts has reached such a stage in its development.

I don't know whether it's because Europe is such an ancient, decadent place

which has seen so many underhand and horrifically nefarious practices take

place that we who live there cynically take everything now with a tired

laissez faire attitude and are more prepared to give folk the benefit of the

doubt. Probably out of exhaustion more than anything else!

I just worry that sometimes we throw the baby out with the bathwater when we

operate from the viewpoint of being suspicious of all things and everybody

who don't appear at first sight to be on the level.

You have the right, under your constitution, to have your own opinion and

state it. Which you did.

Many of us have had the opportunity, to question

other's motives, during this long search, for the

answers we are searching.

Do not concern yourself too much. I doubt any

feel less of you or think your call for caution was

untoward. Keeping our thought processes open

me to send him info ASAP as his " boat " was leaving soon. I questioned this

because anyone who is in the Navy would not call their " ship " a " boat! " I

sent him the information and never heard from him again.

could be a long time berfore he is back. Subs can deploy for as long as 6-9

months. But not usually that long. We have subs escorting carrier battle

Hi, my name is Marcie and my husband is now active in the Air Force Reserves.

He just found out over the weekend that next month he MUST receive the

Anthrax vaccination. They have told him that it's synthetic and that he's

not being injected with the real virus. They also told him that is he

doesn't receive it- he will be kicked out. (which he does not want to do) We

are young (24 and 25 yrs. old) and I just want to learn more about this shot-

what's it for, what's in it, why it's mandated, etc. I would definitely

I received a phone message yesterday with a question asking if this phone

number they had dialed was to Dave Churchill from the Battle Creek unit. The

same that testified at the Shays committee on the effects of the anthrax

shot. I returned the call and verified that it was but if you want to
