Hi ...You will have to keep us updated for sure on Alyssa's upcoming procedure's, seen as she will have surgery before Ethan, we would fly up to Auckland for surgery for him when the time is needed, if our surgeon down here doesn't know of this particular procedure she is having for the epicanthal folds....why is she having them done at this age, and not when she is 4-5 like the dr's recommend-suggest?

Talk soon Leanne:)

-- blepharophimosis Techniques?

Hi everyone, we saw Alyssa's (15 Months) surgeon yesterday who is going to correct her epicanthus folds soon. He talked of a technique he is going to use called "Retro.... something. We are wondering if someone can fill us in on this particular technique? Alyssa is on his waiting list for surgery and we anticipate it happening in about 2-3 months time.

Thanks heaps,

Leanne, the surgeon wants to do the 'sling' soon as her lids are boarderline with interferring with her sight. He would prefer to do the surgeries in order, therefore is going to make a start. (Hope you can understand my explaination?). Hows things going with Ethan care?

To the group, I posted the following message some time ago, and I'm wondering if maybe no-one is familiar with this procedure hence the lack of replies?? Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks,

Are you referring to the following...:?

" Retro.... something " is not much to go on. Can you find out the real

and proper name for the technique for us? Then we (or you) can maybe do

some research. There are thousands of words that start with " retro "

(it's a pretty standard prefix), so you'll need to be more specific or

it'll stay in the " too hard " basket (and be lost in the crowd there).

Sorry, but I've never come across any retro- words re bleph.
