Although my sons had their surgery approximately 28 years ago, the procedure is the same as today. My granddaughter just had her surgery 2 weeks ago, where they did inside corners of her eyes. She will have slings put in her lids in a couple of months. The only difference from the procedure years ago and today is the option of using silicone slings as opposed to the slings taken from the muscle in the thigh.

Whether Dr Putternman offers this alternative is unknown to me at this time, since we are now in California.

In regard to my sons outcome, I believe they are pretty happy. At one point, when they were in their late teens, we asked if they wanted to go in for a "tune-up" but they declined.
