Usually when I take excessive amounts of vitamin C (especially when not taken with huge amounts of water all day), I get extremely bad kidney pains. Would an injected Vitamin C be any better? I would think that too much of almost any vitamin can be dangerous. I definatly would not try any vitamin injections without consulting a doctor. If Vitamin C therapy truly alleviated your Gulf War Syndrome then I advise that you take your findings to one of the clinics/specialists who are conducting treatment and research on Gulf War Vets so that they can do clinical trials on vets with GWS. Guest guest
Large doses of vitamin C are one of many treatments that work for some patients with CFS/Fibromyalgia and GWS. It can be taken orally or iv. It does acidify the urine, which causes problems in rare patients. Very high doses may also cause GI distress. Apart from these problems, I am aware of no other contraindications to the use of high doses. It is a cheap therapy, and if effective, may be very beneficial. However, most patients need a lot more than this. -- Meryl Nass, M.D. Parkview Hospital, Brunswick, Maine 04011 email mnass@... phone (207) 865-0875 fax (207) 865-6975
Guest guest
I am on my wifes e-mail account but I am a marine who has taken the first two shots about to get my third. Luckily for me I probably won't get my forth considering I get out in 4 months but I would just like to know besides you being a gulf war vet what the source of your information. Theres a lot on the internet good and bad (mostly bad) about this vaccination. Someday I would like to have kids and I'd like to know some of the side effects that is known from this vaccination. I'm not sure if the three shots would be enough or if I have anything to worry about. I'm dead against the shot but am not wanting to risk the time I have left to either be on legal or what not. So please e- mail me with any other information that you may have at E1@.... Thank you Since rely Lcpl ,
