Guest guest
With my oldest i didn't have a problem with him not rubbing or messing with his stitches. My youngest, who had just turned 5 when he had his surgery, ended up busting 2 of the stitches. He did it while he was sleeping one night. Both of my boys were 5 when they had the surgery, so i'm not sure about a 3 yr old, but neither of them really bothered there eyes. The only time was when the first woke up in recovery. Guest guest
Hello Sari, When my son was a baby going for his first surgery I was also concerned about him rubbing his eyes, the stitches, etc., but when I asked our doctor about it, he had a very simple answer. " Babies or people in general, instinctively will NOT do something that is going to hurt them physically. " In other words there is no need to worry about them " pulling out stiches " as it would be very painful. It made sense to me, and my son never tried to even touch his eyes after the surgery. Hope this eases some of your worry, Best of luck, > My cutie-pie, , will be having surgery in June when he's 3.
