Apparently, the briefing team was woefully | inadequate in coming up | with explanations to the rash of Gulf War Syndrome like symptoms that | have started occuring at | the base since the vaccinations began last fall. Quotes: " it just may be | your time to get sick " , | " these symptoms occur with other vaccinations as well " and most | disturbingly " I don't know, I | don't care " . | Apparently, the Wing Commander had discussed the issue with the medical | planners at Dover | and conducted his own research. The party line spewing forth from the | briefing team did not add | up compared to the gathering storm of data supporting the possible | connection between the | vaccinations and the troops under his command getting chronic and | unexplained illnesses. At the | end of the briefing, when several afflicted military members in the | audience had their questions | about their illnesses dismissed by the team, the Wing Commander closed | the briefing with his | stunning announcement. | The Wing Commander had a simple choice, he could have simply chosen to | go unquestioningly | along with DOD directives as his peers throughout the chain have, or | taken the much bolder step | of questioning the " party line " . We applaud him for having the fortitude | to dismiss the company | line and do what he feels is best for the men and women under his | command. If more of our | leaders would follow his example of looking out for their people as they | are charged to do, as | opposed to looking out for their careers, think how much more effective | the fighting force could | be. | -- | Meryl Nass, M.D. | Parkview Hospital, Brunswick, Maine 04011 | email mnass@... | phone (207) 865-0875 | fax (207) 865-6975 | --- | This message was posted to the Gulf-Chat mailing list.
