Hi , it's great to see you found the group. I would love to hear about some of your surgical experiences, like who did the surgeries for you? and why do you not recommend having certain surgeries? Have you heard of or know of Dr Salim Afftimos or Mr Sloan? Do you travel to Ak for specialist care?

for some reason I almost feel like I written myself :-)

blepharophimosis POF/premature menopause

Hi everyone,I'm new to this group so am not sure how much on this has already been discussed. However, geneticists have linked the gene, FOXL2, which carries BPES with early onset menopause (and two types of BPES, type I and type II). This is pretty recent research but really important for any women who have BPES and want to have children. I'm 36 and unfortunately went into early menopause at age 34. It is fairly simple to have the genetic testing done. I'm from NZ and there is an excellent genetic researcher in Auckland, who would be very keen to hear from anyone who would like the genetic testing done.
