Hi Anja....Sounds like the Dr's you are talking to, are telling you not to have surgery because they actually probably have NO experience with bleph patients, especially if they cannot supply before and after photo's for you!....I don't know that I would have surgery there, sounds like your definately safer travelling to london....:)

Hi Bernice,

I found this article about surgery results etc. stating that the success

does not depend on the severity of the case .....

Aetiology and surgical treatment of childhood blepharoptosis

V Lee, H Konrad, C Bunce, C and J R O Collin

Oculoplastic Service, Moorfields Eye Hospital, London, UK :

" .... We used both objective and subjective (patient’s/family’s

satisfaction) measurements to describe the surgical outcome and have shown

no difference in patients with varying severity of ptosis and levator

function. We strongly believed that the surgeon must not fit all ptosis

patients to his/her favourite operation, and we have demonstrated here that

with careful patient and surgery selection in historically difficult groups

of patients (with severe ptosis and poor levator function) could achieve a

satisfactory result ...... "

Here is the link for the complete article:
