Mark, I have contacted Sen.'s Leahey and Jeffords from VT. on this

issue.

I recieved insulting letters from both, treating me as though I were

some kind of child, asking a naughty question. I also confornted Leahy

on the phone about this, as he was on a local talk show. His phone was

mysteriously disconnected as I was asking him about the anthrax vaccine.

When he came back on line, the show moderator gave a watered down

version of what I asked, and Leahy being the consumate political

prostitute, gave some some bs answer about his son having been in the

Marines. Speaking of BS, everyones hero (Bomber) Bernie , remains

very quiet on this subject. Please do not be fooled by this jerk, he is

not a friend of the veterans. He is only using them to gain his

political ends. At one time he tried to take a swing at me, at a

political meeting.

Tony Thornton from the Daily Oklahoman here. I'll make it short. Trying to

finish this story on ston to run this weekend.

Do you know how many servicemen and women have been court-martialed over

this issue? Of those, how many convicted?

I have visited the local office of my congressman, Harold Ford, Jr. here in

Memphis and dropped off some supporting materials with one of his aides.

Mr. Ford represents the 9th Congressional District, in which I reside. I

wanted to see Mr. Clay , his designated military affairs rep, but he

wasn't in, and has not returned my calls. One of my squadron's enlisted

members named Sgt. Marvin Roddy spoke with him in person during a previous

office visit, about the AVIP. We are due to receive the shots on 10-11 July

and will have another " opportunity " in October if we miss the July drill.

Mr. Ford's office phone is (901) 544-4131, fax (901) 544-4329. His office

address is 167 N. Main St., Suite 369, Memphis, TN 38103

I thought you did a terrific job during your appearance on Good Morning

America, and am happy to have you as our spokesman.

Jeff, have you heard about the poop hittin' the fan at

Madison, WI (guard f16 unit)? They're due to get the

shot starting this month. 6 pilots (only 6?) have

refused and some went to the local press there and

highlighted the unit bigtime. Apparently, the Sec. of

the Air Force called the TAG of Wisconsin to take care

of it or whatever. The 6 are grounded, one of them

WAS to be the new sq/cc, but not now. Our sq/cc went

to the zoo with him, still good buds. More to follow

there. Good national press about problems with the

vaccine, I'm sure you've heard. Any news your way?
