Guest guest
Hi! I'm 20 yrs old and was born w/ blephs. After reading many other messages, my story is so common. This is totally different for me, b/c i've never knew or talked to anyone outside my family w/ blephs. Unlike many others, I've had more surgeries than usual. (around 15) I can honestly say the only thing harder than the surgeries is dealing w/ the way people react toward me. Esspecially in middle school and high school there was constant looks, comments and questions relating to my eyes. So many days I can remember going home crying and just not understanding why I have to be different. As much as I thought that would end after high school, I still get people asking questions. It does get easier w/ age but the advice of ingoring those comments isn't so realistic esspecially for someone in middle school/high school and even know I can't ingore comments. If anyone has any questions about surgeries, I'll answer any questions possible. Also this is the first time I've heard about the connection between inferetility & blephs. If anyone knows the chances of inferetility....any information on that would be appreciated. I do have family members who are unable to get pregnant but I never in a million years thought it could be connected w/ that. -Stayce
Guest guest
Hi Stayce....Do you have other family members with blephs?....If so how many? Our son is the only one to have this, so it's a mystery:) -- blepharophimosis Re: bpes in children Hi! I'm 20 yrs old and was born w/ blephs. After reading many other messages, my story is so common.
