Guest guest
Thanks for responding, a. It was an inch > long incision from the outer corner of his eye out > then all the tendons were tightened. After this > surgery it was the first time he cried and actually > shed tears..before they'd just pool and seep back in.> The doc did tell us would need his lower lids tightened when he is older to help with the lubrication, but he didn't say how much older. Is there a certain age he has to be before this can be done? He said the lower lids were like pockets holding his tears because he had the outer corners of his eye openings cut. I have seen tears spill out of 's eyes, so I guess his eyes aren't as dry as 's was yet. The one eyelid is very raw though so I guess the blood is from rubbing his eyes raw. Its so hard with a baby to figure out exactly how uncomfortable he is, why he is and what symptoms to look for and what they mean. Everything is so new to us. Oh, and regarding the bottom lid surgery, do you mean the incision was an inch from the outer corner toward the ears? How was this surgery compared to the suspensions? Is it a permanent fix or will they have to do it again as grows? will have to have another suspension in 6-8 months, b/c the doc thinks he'll outgrow this one by then again. I'm getting used to the suspensions, but I'm not ready for more unfamiliar procedures to be done on my baby yet! Thank God for all of you sharing your experiences with us who are just beginning the journey. its very comforting. Debbie

Sorry to bother you with more questions, but i'm curious about what the symptoms were when 's eyes rejected the slings. I think I saw your post from way back about it but I'm not sure where it is. We've figured out has what looks like a protruding bump, or a piece of translucent, pink tissue on his eyelid crease where it has been bleeding. The doc said today over the phone it may be a reaction to the foreign matter in his eye, or it may be the something else. We have to watch it for a week then report in to see if the doc wants to see in the office. Thanks again, a. Debbie
