Guest guest
Hi From having met people and spoken / emailed people, I believe that many people with BPES have astigmatism. I know of a couple of kids who have to wear glasses. I have astigmatism, quite badly in one eye. Overall, my vision is reasonable. I have problem with sunlight, and I think this is pretty common. Even on a cloudy day I need to wear sunglasses. I always take sunglasses to the dentist as the light bothers me. I don't have any problems with tears now, but I did have some when I was a teenager. I would tear too much. My final surgery at age 18 fixed that problem. However, from talking to others I believe it is not unusual for people with BPES to not have tears. Hope this helps Shireen -----Original Message-----From: kimberly mcnatt [mailto:kim_mcnatt@...]Sent: 27 June 2004 20:47blepharophimosis Subject: blepharophimosis Does anyone need glasses?Hi, I just had a question, my son brock has neeeded glasses for his vision since about 2 years old, is this common with bpes? How many other children need to wear glasses? Also, Brock doesn't cry tears, the only time his eyes water, is if he has an infection, otherwise he doesn't tear, anyone else have this? Guest guest
Hi, I have astigmatism and have worn glasses since I was a little kid. Overall, my eyesight is ok, but I need glasses for reading, driving etc. My eyes water quite a bit - especially at work (with air conditioning maybe), wearing makeup, and under stress, but I think I've always cried, but perhaps not as easilly as others. --- Andy Bowles & Shireen Mohandes <andy.bowles@...> wrote: > Hi > From having met people and spoken / emailed > people, I believe that many > people with BPES have astigmatism. > I know of a couple of kids who have to wear > glasses. > I have astigmatism, quite badly in one eye. > Overall, my vision is > reasonable. > I have problem with sunlight, and I think this > is pretty common. Guest guest
My son Garrett has worn glasses since he was 1½. I don't think he has a problem with tears, but I haven't really noticed. He doesn't cry too much.
Guest guest
Hi, my 2years old a does not need glasses (yet), but her eyes do not tear at all. This does not seem to be a problem so far, her eyes are not oversensitive to sunlight and she has had only one eye infection within two years, which is nothing compared to others who suffer from " dry eyes " ... Guest guest
Hello all, Our daughter, (age 5), has worn glasses since she was about 2 1/2 years old. She has never cried an actual tear - ever. The doctors don't seem to think it is a problem right now. Like many others, she is sensitive to the sunlight. She usually wears a little ball cap on her head when she's outside playing or swimming and that seems to help her enough. God bless you all, Ginny Harper <><
Guest guest
my son mason, 5, just got glasses about 4 months ago. he is sensitive to light and used to wear a cap but recently finds it uncomfortable because his head gets sweaty. as far as tears go, he has an over abundance, especially when it is cold outside. he has never had an eye infection although if he has a sinus infection or a really bad cold his eyes oooz goop.Anja Shahin <anjashahin@...> wrote: Hi,my 2years old a does not need glasses (yet), but her eyes do not tear at all. Just curious, Kim Our son René was operated when he was 12 years old and he needed glases at the age of 10. In the years before we have never noticed that he would need glases. He does have tears when he cries (which nowadays does not happen anymore he's 32) and when it's very windy outside which happens quite often because we live in a windy country. regards, Dolph Heideman
