,

I know exactly how you feel. When my

oldest son went in for one of his surgeries it was cancelled because of the

same thing. That is actually how we found out he had asthma. Good luck when

Alyssa does have her surgery.

Raspberry tea, ginger tea ... we're never ready for it Janet... means our little girls are growing up... This site might help you explain it.. http://kidshealth.org/parent/growth/growing/talk_about_menstruation.html Janet Hamilton <dragonhealing@...> wrote: Hey guys, hope you all had a good holiday. Looks like my little girl may be starting an early entry into womanhood. She has a sore chest and is now crampy. She is only 9 and very petite and young emotionally. I explained things to her as best I could but I don’t think she is fully understanding at the moment. Poor thing only knows her tummy hurts. I could sure use some advice and encouragement, I wasn’t ready for this at all silly me. Janet

Can't remember what I told Taimi except to celebrate. I read something and I believe it might have either been "Reclaiming our Health" by Robbins or "Women's Wisdom, Women's Bodies" by Northrup about celebrating womanhood in some fashion. Some cultures that is when a girl gets her ears pierced (that's what my daughter and I did). Have some sort of positive event between the two of you, NOT the entire family! Celebrate being a woman, even though it is so very annoying.

Thank you Suzi. She seems better today so

maybe it was just a false alarm. I will get some more raspberry leaf tea and

already have ginger root on hand.

Thanks Shari.

You are right and I am planning on taking her out with me today. My mom

suggested looking at some pretty blouses at the local thrift store rather than

saddling her with a training bra right away. This way she can be little

girl comfortable for a while longer. I figure it will be a good excuse to

swing by the feminine aisle of the grocery store and get her familiar with

products as well.

She is getting breasts for sure, not sure

about the period as she is only crampy and bloating so far.

Okay, now I'm confused. Is she starting her period or

getting breasts? I handled it two different ways.

My daughter used to have bad cramps. Then I read that cramps are (can

be?) connected to a calcium deficiency. When she started using calcium

supplements, her cramps disappeared.

Thank you TerriLynne. I do have her

on a supplement with calcium, and she is a good eater too. I am almost

thinking this is due to the stress she has been under this school year.

Maybe she is just tired of the grind, sort of a spring fever or something.
