Guest guest
Donna: My goodness! Those eyes and eyelashes are so handsome! What a doll, he'll be needing that helmet to fend off all the little ladies after him. What a cutie! How's he doing in his helmet? Any correction yet? Thanks for sharing! Guest guest
Thank you so much for the kind words. All three of my kids have the eyes and the lashes!!! He is doing great with the helmet! Sleeping through the night with it on already. He's not even trying to pull at it or anything else like that. We have seen from our pictures taken some correction and we can feel it when we wrap our hands around his little head. Hoping to see lots more improvement over time. We were told he may only need to wear it for approx. 4 to 6 mos.I guess he is what they consider moderate plagio. I will try to put some of the pics in his album as we progress. Again thanks for the kindness! Donna()
Guest guest
You're welcome for my kind words Donna! He truly is a little doll, you're kids are very fortunate to have such beautiful eyes! I'm happy to hear how great he's doing in his helmet & you've already seen correction! Certainly is a huge relief. Not to sound stupid here, but I thought the Canadian socialized medicine would cover the helmet & you wouldn't battle insurance like us Americans do. I don't really understand socialized medicine at all though. Debbie Abby's mom DOCGrad MI > Thank you so much for the kind words. All three of my kids have the > eyes and the lashes!!! Guest guest
Our so-called socialized medical is called OHIP. They don't cover it because they say that it is " cosmetic " . I'm really getting tired of that word. I really wish that these big companies and our wonderful medical coverage would do more research and actually talk to the doctors that are dealing with this issue on a regular basis and then maybe they wouldn't feel like it was cosmetic. Or heaven forbid it happens to their kids or grandkids. We are hoping that our ins. will cover some of it. We will keep posted as to what happens. I don's expect to hear anything any time too soon. They are pretty ignorant there. Perserverance!!! I guess is the word. Donna
Guest guest
Hi Donna: I'm now dealing with BCBS but I'm in Florida, I can tell you that they denied me, and you know the rest of the story about the conference call I don't know I'm confuse but I will keep you poste and let you how it end up. I tell you what, I saw the pictures and your son is adorable, Congratulations! > Just wanting to let everyone know that I have put a few of 's > pictures in a folder and will be putting more in there soon. Guest guest
Thanks for the info. Hopefully all goes well for you tomorrow. I would stress to them at the importance on the medical issues with the band/helmet. I think that if you get into the later on aspect with teasing and social issues they will definately deny you again. Also if you have tried other measures such as repoing that would be another thing to tell them. Maybe that will show them that you haven't just jumped the gun with this treatment. Good luck to you. And again thank you. Donna
Guest guest
Yea! Photos of - pre & post surgery. They're out of order, but the pictures were taken 24 hours, 2 days, 3 days & 4 days after canthoplasty & canthoplexy surgery. His surgery was Tuesday, 6/15/2004. I'll add & remove pictures as we see changes. Hope they're helpful! Sari
