Shena,

Welcome to group. I can't really help you too much because i have all boys, but i can say this. My oldest son, who will be 11 in Sept. started puberty young too. He is very big for his age. He is now 5'5", weighs 160 lbs, and has grown underarm and pubic hair. He also has pimples on his face. This all started with him when he was around 8. He looks so much older than the rest of the kids in his grade, but he is still so much a kid. He is actually younger than most of the kids because he started kindergarten when he was 4. He turned 5 a week after school started. He hates that he looks so "grown up", but yet he still immature. The docs have told me that he is so clumsy because the inside of his body is still at his age, but the outside is much bigger and older than he really is. Alot of the kids are intimated by him because he is so much bigger and therefore he doesn't have alot of friends. I feel bad for him, but i don't know what to do.

I can't help you as far as the BPES and fertility goes, but i thought i'd share with you that you aren't the only one out there that has a child that has started puberty early. It can be frustrating for us parent as well and i know what you are going through.

Hi Sheena,

Im not far away from you over in Stockport. Unfortunately Ive not had the same experiences (re your daughter and mine) as Nicola was never offered any surgery. She has a condition called Ohdo Syndrome which it seems they were more interested in! It wasnt until I met up with Shireen that I knew more about the condition. Sorry I cant help you but always here for a chat.

Re: blepharophimosis Hello

e,Welcome to the group. I too am 32 and come from a family of BPES. I livein Ohio. My father had it as does my grandfather. I have it and have passedit on to 2 of my sons. My oldest son, who will be 11, is finished with hissurgeries, unless the surgereon feels he needs to have the bridge of hisnose raised. His results were fantastic. My youngest son, who will be 6 onthe 22nd, has had 3 surgeries so far and is going in this Friday for hisbrow suspension. The surgeon has already told me that he will need at leastone more surgery when he is a teenager. He too has a very flat bridge, butnothing has been said about that yet. It's so flat his glasses won't evenstay up.Again, welcome to the group.
