Guest guest
Hi again to all, Just to those of you who are considering having more children - don`t wait too long! I was 28 when I had my daughter & if I had of known about the POF connection with BPES we may have started a bit earlier. Now my daughter is 18 & about to go for genetic counselling & hopefully testing to check her Type - not that we want her to hurry into having a family just yet but may be good to know. Well, she can decide herself if she wants to be tested after we see the geneticist in 3 weeks time. Stina, your photos of Alice are lovely & we would never have guessed you have BPES! All the best Maree
Guest guest
Hi N Just wondering if your frst cousin who had infantile scoliosis has gone on to have children herself and also what treatment she received and how is her scoliosis now? I am interested in how these infantile scoliosis kids go as they grow up. Bert from Austickanmn <tickanmn@...> wrote: Hi, I have not posted here before, my 20 mnth daughter has scoliosisalso. We attended a geneticist after her diagnosis and what we weretold was that there is a genetic link to the incidence of scoliosisbut that there has not been enough research done yet. I have a firstcousin who also had infantile scoliosis, so it is likely that thegenes come from my side of the family. What we were told with regardto having more children is that the likely hood of another childhaving the same problems are really tiny, what they cannot give anyguidance on is if she goes on to have children herself, whether therisk of her children having scoliosis would be greatly increased.Hope this helps,N> > I know that Sciliosis is genetic... Guest guest
Hi My husband and I have 5 kids they are all ours no blended family here. My mother in-law had scoliosis from the time she was a teen My husband also does and so do I but no one in our families have had any form of infantile scoliosis. Our second oldest is being watch as he is starting with a mild form of it. I was told by three different doctors so run in families depends on what type but for us they were getting it from both sides my oldest is straight as an arrow. this is my 2 cents. Talk with your doctors and see what they think they are dealing with it and know better then I would if you are at high risk for more kids to get it or if it is just a bit risker. More Children I know that Sciliosis is genetic... So is there anyone here that has more than one child with scoliosis? I'm worried about having more because I don't want to put another child through what Logan or any of the other kids here are going through. I know I will have more but does anyone have an idea about the chances of another one of my kids getting scoliosis too?-4 & Logan
Guest guest
--- Bert, My cousin is a He, and he does not have any children yet himself. I am not 100% sure but I don't think he recieved any treatment at all as a child and has certainly not had any as an adult. He is not very tall, but none of his 5 siblings are either, and none of them have shown any signs of scoliosis to my knowledge N In infantile scoliosis treatment , bert lehane <bert_lehane@y...> wrote: > Hi N > > Just wondering if your frst cousin who had infantile scoliosis has gone on to have children herself and also what treatment she received and how is her scoliosis now?
