Guest guest
Hi everyone, This week I took Alice to the eyedoctor again to check her vision. She can see allright and that is a relief. But the doctor ia a little concerned about her crossing her eyes. But that as well looks so much better now. We train her eyes every day putting a patch on each eye for 10 minutes. We'll go back to see the doctor in 2 months. Also we'll go and have some genetic counseling to find out which type I am (I'm SO nervous...) and to find out about heredity in our case. We would really want to have more children. I'm really nervous... I'm so nervous that maybe Alice wont be able to have kids. I hope that I'll get all the answers when we go to the appointement. We'll also go and consult the surgeon who operated on my eyes 10 years ago. We want to know when it will be best for Alice to have her surgery and what the result might be like. Alice is a little miracle and she is just so wonderful! She now smiles so much and laughts and she is a very happy baby. We go to a baby swim school with her once a week and she loves it! We also go to baby song (singing and dancing with other babies) and she loves that! So far, nobody has ever said anything about her eyes. I feel that I'm the happiest mother on earth to have such a wonderful baby! I wouldn't want to have her any different. I just know that she will be fine and grow up to be a wonderful woman. Guest guest
Stina Thank you for sharing. Our babies are about the same age. Lily also had an appt. this week with her new surgeon. She had two ptosis surgeries in September, the left eye was a success, the right eye was not. The surgeries left her eyelids very swollen, red and also she developed an infection. Her new surgeon treated the infection and it is so wonderful to see her without so much trauma around her eyes. She can open her left eye very well and her right eye she can open as much as she could before the surgeries, frustrating, to have put her through so much. She will have another surgery in January, and I am relieved that we will go through the holidays without hospitals, stitches, etc., It is amazing to think that next Christmas she will walk and talk and I really want to enjoy this first Christmas, while she is still a small infant. Lily is smiling and laughing and growing and changing so much, we are so in love with her. It was very hard at first for so many reasons, but I am very confident about her future. With the help of other moms in this group, a surgeon we are very pleased to have found, and knowing that I have had a very good life, better than most, and that Lily's will be even better. I am certain she is going to show her mommy and daddy how little this matters. I am very frightened about the possiblility of POF for Lily. I am almost 34 and had a difficult time conceiving due to lack of ovulation. So possibly I am developing POF. But I want to remind everyone that there are so many advances and many people face infertility and become parents. I think the most important thing for all women is to realize that you cannot always wait until you are older to have kids. Lots of supermodels and newsanchors are having kids in their forties but they have resources of time and money that most of us do not. My husband and I had always thought we might like to adopt a baby even before we knew about the BPES, and possibly if we cannot conceive another, we might adopt a child or possibly Lily will be an only child. Time will tell. I hope you have good news from Alice's appts. She is a fortunate little baby no matter what you learn from the geneticist, she has parents who love her but also love each other. That counts for so much in this world. thank you again BethStina Lasu <stina_ls@...> wrote: Hi everyone, This week I took Alice to the eyedoctor again to check her vision.
