I convinced my daughter that vaccines are harmful but how do I convince her husband who has his own beliefs without being a typical interfering mother-in-law (how I hate the sound of that). Everytime they take the baby for her well-visits, I fear that they will be bullied by the doctor to get her the shots. Their pediatrician told them in the beginning that if they refuse the vaccinations, they should " find another doctor " and that he wouldn't treat the baby. They got her the first shot but agreed to hold off until she has developed her own immune system at least (the best comprimise they could give me for now). This particular subject is important to me because I am a member of the NJ Chapter of Parents for Freedom of Vaccination Choice and have volumes of information on the subject. It wouldn't surprise me if her current problem is vaccine related but I pray it isn't. I never thought of the foot shaker to strengthen those little muscles - I'll have to give it a try. I remember looking at his other patients getting the same treatment who looked so sick and I wondered what the common denominator could be to make these people so ill with these various " new " diseases that were unheard of before. I was convinced then that it was the vaccinations because my generation was the first to be vaccinated en masse. That was 1987....now I know that vaccinations are only a small part of the big picture because our immune systems are being bombarded every day from all different directions. We have no way to determine what problems the untold millions of people will have that were exposed to the simian (monkey) viral contaminated polio vaccine that was given to children between 1955 and 1961. I remember as a child being led into the school auditorium where there was a big table with sugar cubes with the red dot in the middle that contained the vaccine. Being the cut up that I was, I proceeded to go back on the line again and again to get more " sugar " because it tasted so good (and because somebody dared me). I think I remember them coming to the school a few times that year. The next year, they gave a shot and that time I was hiding in the back of the line...... With that said, if anyone would like to do more reading up on the subject or if a letter of exemption is needed for school let me know. If all else fails, I like the idea of a vaccine remedy. Marilyn on this list told me that she had a homeopathic doctor give the vaccination to her child which took care of the problem with the school and she never needed an exemption letter. Guest guest
Dotsie, That is a hard position to be in. I feel for you. Have you shown him the research you have in multitude of books that show the dangers of vaccinations, and the implications for major diseases that researchers are directly linking with different vaccine's? I think if he could see it for himself he may be hesitate enough to think it through, rather than " trust " the doctor.... Dr. Mendehlson's books are great on this subject.... He sets up an interesting anaylogy regarding the medical profession and a false church. The common ground is trust. With spiritual issues and with medical ones, you can't see what they are discussing.... or shooting in your arm. You are really having to place one's faith in THEM, their opinions, and their experience. When a child gets 'most' of the diseases... that children get now days, they ususally are over it within a week's time. The side effects that are direct and indirect from the vaccines are permenant, and sometimes lethal. I feel I'd rather take my chances on a healthy immune system, than a compromised one. If they do insist on getting the shots, one can always give a vaccine " remedy " to counteract the hostile effects, 2 weeks prior, and then afterwards, to help. Guest guest
I have not had time to read all these posts but I believe there was a child (baby) with health problems. Could it be due to a vaccine? Christy

She is having an MRI tomorrow (very nervous grandma because they have to put her to sleep for the procedure) and when I hear the results, I will know for sure. It could be the vaccination because she has had one round of shots - I pray it isn't. I will keep everyone posted. Thanks, Dotsie
Guest guest
Dear all, First of all I am not an English native speaker so please forgive me if I use a wrong phrase or word. In 1972 our son was born and he had, what we know now, bleph. We have visited half a dozen medics without succes and even without telling us what our son had. Most of them told us it is these one-in-a-million chances to have something like that. It does not occur in both mine and my wifes family. Finally he has had surgery by an eye specialist at Leiden University Hospital when he was 2yr. The main reason was that he always bowd back his head in order to see proper and there was a danger of damaging his spine in the neck area. This operation was, as we know now more or less unnecesary . By coincidence we met a plastic surger and he advised us to operate (the boy was 12 yr). The operation was performed very wel everybody happy. Still we had no idea about BLEP, the word was never mentioned by this professor. Now 3 weeks ago our granddaughter was born and after a few days we, my wife and I, felt that history repeated itself, she has the same "looks" as our son had in that age. After swimming around in the internet for a couple of hours, for the first time I learned about blepharophimosis! Looking at the archive of this group I learned a lot. So after 32 years, we where able to tell our son, and his wife, what was going on! Now they are in the medical proces familydoctor-->Eye Specialist local hospital--> eye specialist University Hospital Amsterdam-->??? We'll have to wait and see what the profis tell us but fortunately this time we are armed whit BPES knowledge based, among others, on your experiences and willingness to share them with others. We thank you all for that. Best regards, Adolph J. Heideman Purmerend - The Netherlands
Guest guest
I have always been told by my many docs that this is a hereditary disease. I think that if she has asthma and polyps there is a very good chance that Samters is what she has. At least you are well educated to the things she can do. I have never been told or read the typical age for onset. I do recall reading that for many, the onset is around age 30 or later. However, that doesn't mean you couldn't develop the symptoms as a child. Ot <sandraobriant@...> wrote: Hi, I just heard about this yesterday am trying to figure out if Samters might be what my granddaughter has. She is 12 years old and is going to have her 7th surgery for sinus polyps in two weeks. Her first surgery was when she was 3 y.o. She has asthma but I am not sure if she has a sensitivity to aspirin. We are unaware of it if that is the case. Do children have Samter's? Do any of you have any suggestions as to what to try? She has had allergy shots and has done the nettie pot irrigation. She is becoming very discouraged and depressed. Thanks Never miss a thing. Make your homepage. Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Mobile. Try it now. Guest guest
My little niece who is 6 years old has had asthma and allergies for a few years now. My sister just informed me that a while ago she gave her an advil and wheazed. This of course concerned me and I recently muscle tested her for aspirin allergy and she tested positive to the aspirin allergy. I am very upset to see my little niece going down my same path. But we are the only ones in our family with this. laura
