Guest guest
Well, Garrett went today to see his surgeon again. He said that the surgery on the corners of the eyes looks real good, which i already knew. It's now time to do the eyelid slings. He had Garrett stand up so he could see how tall he was. He grabbed his leg and said "he's awful skinny, hope i can find some muscle in there". He also said that there wasn't alot of skin on his eyelids. Not sure if i should be concerned about that or not. I really didn't think much of it until after i left. Not sure if he meant that it might be tough to do with so little skin or if he was just saying that there wasn't alot of skin. I'll ask at his next appointment before his surgery. He asked me if i wanted to wait until after school and i told him not really. He's only in kindergarten and he's going to be repeating it anyway so it really didn't matter if we did it sooner. He did say that he wanted to wait until it got warmer outside though. He said he doesn't like doing outpatient surgery on a kid when it's this cold. Works out for me though because i actually got to pick when i wanted the surgery. He's going to have it on April 2nd. His spring break from school starts on April 5th, so he'll only miss the last day of school. He did say that he'll be out of school for a couple weeks, but since it's spring break he'll only have to miss 1 wk. I wish it was sooner, but he's already missed the 2 wks of school after the surgery on the corners of the eyes. He's already struggling enough and it's better to wait until spring break.
