Guest guest
Hi Donna. I am Ruths Mom. When Ruth was born I noticed her left ear is folded over at the top.I guess it is part of BPES. She is almost a year old now. Her ear is a little different looking but I guess we dont even notice it. The Drs have never said anything about doing anything about it--- In blepharophimosis , " newhavenmama " <newhavenmama@h...> wrote: > > Hi all, > I gotta warn you...there may be a lot of questions coming your way! > > First - have any of you heard of Dr. Jordan (Professor at > University of Ottawa Eye Institute and has his own private practice). > If you have...comments, opinions, etc! please! > > Secondly, have any of you who have bleph or whose kids have bleph > also had ear malformations? Guest guest
Hi Donna, Yes, my son Brock has two "funny" looking ears, but that is just part of what makes him the adorable little guy that he is, I am sure Halle is adorable too! When Halle was born, one ear looked perfect but the other was slightly folded over at the top. As time has gone on, the other ear has also developed this flop-over at the top. Her ears are so tiny and cute but now they stick out big time at the top! Have any of you had their kids ears pinned back? Is it something that can't be done until they're 4 or 5? Okay that's all....for now!!! :)Thanks,DonnaPS thanks to all who posted about the sling surgery and how its done and what they use! I'm taking notes fast and furious! Guest guest
Hi Donna, Yes, our son Ethan has the *bent ear* as well:) especially the left one, we call it the cauliflower ear that rugby players get:)....it would be cosmetic surgery to have them pinned back, we will probably look at getting that done some where down the line, if he only had the ears, and not the eyes then we would not even bother, but kids tease about the size of peoples ears let alone what he is going to have to endure about his eyes:(... blepharophimosis Two things...Bleph's effect on ears? Guest guest
Hi I just finished watching a TV programme (on the Discovery Channel) on cosmetic surgery, about a little boy who had his ears sorted out. One of the things the surgeon said was that it is a procedure they do quite early on. I know that everyone is different. But it may just be one of those procedures that is more successful early on. Take care Shireen -----Original Message-----From: costellos [mailto:tltne@...]Sent: 23 November 2004 21:33blepharophimosis Subject: Re: blepharophimosis Two things...Bleph's effect on ears? Guest guest
Hi gals, You know the internet is a wonderful things but WOW can you ever find different information about the exact same things! Shireen, that was interesting about hearing that the ear thing should be done early on - the only thing I could find regarding age was that it shouldn't be done until about age 4 or 5 because they are still growing so rapidly? I know that is not important at this stage but definately something I will look into - and maybe have it done when she has her eyes done so that its all over with at once. Tks!
