Guest guest
Hello Group: Just wanted to send an update regarding Hannah's visit to the surgeon yesterday. The doctor felt that there is no need to do surgery this early in Hannah's life. He recommends we wait to see how her facial features develope and take it from there which would be around the age of five or six. The key part being that her vision is not obstructed. Developmentally Hannah is doing well and she is right on track with where she should be at five months old. I did go prepared with questions and felt that the doctor did a mediocre job of answering them. With that being said I want to visit other surgeons in our area for a second, third and maybe fourth opinion. I want the very best for Hannah and do not think I should settle for less no matter how big or small the issue at hand is. I did ask about genetic testing to see if she is type I or type II and he did not have much insight except he could refer me to a pediatric geneticist. If anyone on the board can refer me to an ocular plastic surgeon in the area of Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee or Ohio please let me know. Have a great day!
