Guest guest Posted May 15, 2005 Report Share Posted May 15, 2005 Hi everyone, I have been receiving daily emails of all the posts and have found it really helpful and interesting, sad and happy with all the posts over the last 6 months or so since I've last posted anything. Alyssa is doing great. She came through her epicanthus surgery like a real trooper and is now waiting for surgery for the 'sling'. She will be 3 this year...time has gone so fast. I still remember all the scary thoughts and tears we had as parents of a newly diagnosed bpes baby, and now we have this beautiful and very clever little girl we adore so. Thanks Shireen for talking with us at that scary time also! BPES Kiwi's.... I'm still very interested in organising a get-to-gether for Labour Weekend this year and would like to hear (via direct email to us at: bobjnr@...) from anyone interested in attending. The last response was very sad and I'm hoping to get quite a few email this time, or I will have to reconsider organising something if there doesn't seem to be any interest. We have the backing of some medical personnel here in Auckland, and it would be a shame to see it not happen. Especially for the support side of things. (There aren't too many of us kiwi's ) Sadly, this will be our last post here for awhile. We are operating on a museum (old)computer and all the mail and inparticular pictures coming through into our box is getting too much to download. As Great as the photo's are of all the beautiful children (and adults), it takes too much effort for our poor old computer to download (and too long). It appears to be the latest thing to do dispite our request for pictures to go into the albums. Maybe one day soon we'll have a new system up and running and say Hi once more. It is great however, to see this bpes group growing so fast. It's so helpful to talk and get advise from others in a similar situation. Especially when it's new and so scary! Anyway, wishing you all well, hopeing to hear from all you kiwi.......send us mail to let us know of your interest in having a get-to-gether. Thanks.
