Guest guest
Not enough Kleenex!! I really and truly don't think I can put into words how your posts have made me feel - you guys are the best! Thank you soooooooo much! You are all right - and I just knew you could put this all into perspective for me. I feel like I'm armed and ready to take on anyone! Of course, this will only be until next time it happens and then I will probably have to come back for more 'ammo'!! Smiling...hmmmm...I think I can do that! I know for the most part people are just curious or uneducated and that really they don't mean to be awful....so i shall try to remind myself of this the next time I get the looks or comments. I think I've realized something that is making it hard for me... My mom is a real worrier by nature so after finding out about Halle, I really downplayed the bleph thing when I told her so she wouldn't worry. However, in doing so, I've made it not 'real'. Not that she has reason to worry but its made it so I can't talk to her about my feelings. Something I will have to do is sit down and tell her exactly what it is and that its not just something Halle will 'outgrow'. That will be another step towards my acceptance of this, I guess. Anyway from the bottom of my heart, I thank you all. I will read and re-read your posts and keep them nearby so that in the 'down' times, I can use them to re-fuel! You are all wonderful and kind and very special people! Hugs to you all, Donna
Guest guest
Donna, Way to go! That's the right attitude! Keep up the positive reinforcement for yourself. Seems like you and I are sharing the same emotional roller coaster ride. My mom too is a worrier and I tried to down play the eyes with her. But after talking it with her..better yet, having a complete emotional breakdown with her...it felt good to voice out the concerns and to comfort each other. Discuss with your mom, cuz you will need her support and comfort. Keep up the positive perspective! another cyber hug to you... Min --- newhavenmama <newhavenmama@...> wrote: > > Not enough Kleenex!! Guest guest
Hi Donna, I too know how you are feeling. My son, Brock also had a clubfoot at birth, which meant he had to wear a cast on his leg for about 4-5 months, so I not only had the stares for the bleph, but I could tell people were wondering about a baby with a cast. One lady actually asked me and my husband if we had adopted Brock, due to the asian looking eyes. It is really hard, but smililng and educating people is about all you can do. I much rather when people ask me questions though, instead of nasty looks, and stares. Hang in there, you are doing great! Sincerely, Kimnewhavenmama <newhavenmama@...> wrote: Not enough Kleenex!!
