Guest guest
Dear friends, When Parivartan started the AIDS prevention campaign, specifically amongst the adolescents, in 1995, the adults and the educators thought AIDS as a distant possibility (many still like to think that way). People need to see to believe. In 1999, during the teachers' training, some teachers shared their anguish of losing very near and dear relatives such as cousins and sister-in-law's brother of AIDS. Though the status was known to them only after the death of the person. In 2001, I met one of the principals, who had in the past undertaken the training that we regularly conduct as part of the AIDS prevention campaign. His health I found deteriorated much since I last met him. It was due to Diabetes and diarrhoea he informed. Every time I met him thereafter, he looked thinner and weaker. In 2002, I met another teacher from the same school, who informed me that the principal is in sick leave since last few months. In between he was admitted to the hospital and very secretive about the nature of his illness. He has quitely left the city to be with his sister and at present not even in position to leave the bed. This teacher wanted to know whether it is AIDS?
