Guest guest
Hi Beth, Glad to hear Lilys doing good:) Why did they operate so early? Did her eyes not open past her pupil? Can you post some pix of her after the surgery? would love to see them....Take care leanne. -- blepharophimosis Lily's surgery Just wanted to let everyone know Lily had slings put in at Children's in DC and she is doing great, we are so pleased. She is thrilled to see so much better, looking all around and laughing and we are so so relieved. She is 6 months old today. Her right eye is turning a little bit sometimes, hopefully with some patching it will get stronger. Beth
Guest guest
Wonderful! My daughter just had surgery last Thursday, and so far so good. She's 6 and this is her fourth surgery. This time they were able to lift her lid more than before, and it keeps surprising her father and I to see those eyeballs looking back at us! Guest guest
She couldn't open her eyes at all. She had slings put in at 6 weeks, but with little success. The surgeon really didn't do a good job, and her right eye never lifted. She also got infections in both eyes. I know it sounds like we are terrible parents, the surgeon was referred to us by several doctors we trusted, I blame myself and will never get over it. It seems like in my family, we all have severe ptosis but maybe not the other symptoms as severe. We found a new surgeon, we had to wait for her infections to clear. She could see out of the left and a teeny bit out of the right. She looks just wonderful now, we have to wait for the stitches to come out and scars but she looks so beautiful and she is so happy. Incidentally, our surgeon uses nylon string instead of silicon, he prefers it. She will have the epicanthus surgery later and the permananent ptosis lift later, too.
