Guest guest
Kim, Praying for your whole family and especially little Rowan on your drive and through his surgery! Although I did not experience Micah's surgery with him but I did see pictures of him just a couple of days after his sling surgery and was amazed at how wonderful he looked right away. Please let us know how he is doing. Guest guest
Dear Kim, Your situation sounds just like ours when we had 's 1st. sling surgery. That was 2 years ago now. He was getting over a cold. We had the same fears you are having now. All went well. You will be amazed by how wonderful it is to have your child look at you square on without a struggle. Post op will go fine. Don't be afraid. was 5 months old and he did fine. I am happy for you that you are having this done. Be brave and hang in there. God Bless you and your family. Guest guest
I'm think of going to see Mr Collin in London to discuss the possibility of having more surgery to improve the appearance of my left lid which sags and feels uncomfortable. However, It isn't affecting my vision and I'm beginning to wonder if Mr Collin may not carry out surgery for cosmetic reasons alone. Does anyone know if that might be the case? Conceição Hogg <chogg@...> wrote: Hello Tessa, Thank you for your reply. I guess that if Danny's vision has not been affected and he is nearly 7 (his birthday is in August) then his BPES condition is probably mild, and in his case the operation will be mainly for cosmetic reasons, right? Wishing you and your son Bipin all the best. Hope you have lovely holidays in Spain when they come. Take care, Hi yes, it's not an easy decision. In Bipin's case Mr Collin thinks thathis eyesight probably will be affected if he doesn't have his lidslifted while he's still young. He's basing this on how much the pupilis covered by the lid (more in the right eye), but also the fact thathis Dad's (Jakesh) sight is very bad in the right eye that also hadthe lower lid. Collin thinks that this is because Jakesh had hissurgery later, from about 6 years old. Of course you never knowexactly but it seems like a good enough reason to have the op. Ourinitial feeling was that we wouldn't have Bipin go through any ops ifit was purely cosmetic, but since it seems necessary for his eyesightwe decided to go ahead. The way that Collin explained the operationto us is that it is a 'temporary' thing that will last until hissight develops fully - at about 7 yrs old. I'm not exactly sure whattemporary means, if the lid will gradually adjust back to normal...?On the other hand Bipin's aunt (Jakesh's sister) also has BPES andhas never had any surgery and doesn't have particularly bad eyesight. So it's never an exact science. Thanks for your thoughts!Tessa--- In blepharophimosis , Conceição Hogg <chogg@...>wrote:>> Hello Lucy,>> I am , Danny's mum, from Portugal.>> I really do not know how to put this, but I am going to do itanyway.> Danny also had his surgery appointment cancelled when he was 8months> old, because he had a fever.
