Guest guest Posted February 15, 2002 Report Share Posted February 15, 2002 HIV test for Rs 10 only The Times of India 15th February, 2002-New Delhi Hyderabad: Rupees 10 is all it costs to get a three test done in Andhra Pradesh for a confirmation of HIV positivity or negativity at the 26 Voluntary Counselling and Testing Centres (VCTC) set up by the AP State AIDS Control Society. The three test confirms HIV positivity upto 99 per cent. Private hospitals and diagnostic clinics in the state however, charge between Rs 400 and Rs 600 for the same. The VCTCs are located in the 10 government medical colleges and the district hospitals where no government medical college is present, APSCAS additional project director NSR Brahmachary said. All the 23 districts in the state are covered by the VCTCs, Brahmachary said.
