Hi ,

You are doing a great job with the positive

reinforcement with . Yes, it is quite heart

breaking to hear her say she doesn't like her eyes,

but advise her that this is only a temporary

situation. Maybe get her more involved with the

massaging to help fade them away. Be open and honest

and allow her to express her feelings.

And most important, you have to believe that she will

be fine. Kids live by example so continue to show her

that positive attitude.

Time heals all wounds....with a little help with of a

massage, this will past soon.

Sending you a cyber-hug too! :-)

I think this is good advice, keep telling her how this will go away and how wonderful she will be able to see and also how beautiful she is. I feel for you, I don't know how I will explain it to Lily when she has surgeries when she is older, right now it hurts me when she has stitches, scars, but she has no idea. It will be harder when she is older. She is now only 4 months.

You are doing wonderfully with her. Do you have BPES? I do, and I remember very little about my surgeries. I know that I was teased by kids and adults asked me strange questions, but it's more just a feeling, I don't remember specific times. My mom remembers but she hadn't told me much until my daughter was born. I do remember that I always felt very loved by my parents, and they made me believe that I was beautiful. You are doing the same for your little girl. Best wishes to you
