Guest guest
I don't know if you consider DC too far away, but our surgeon is Dr. Gavaris, in Virginia and DC. > > Hi all. > I took Josh back to Dr. Sherman (Tallahassee, FL) today for a re- > check. Guest guest
Hi Annette: I've just now read through all my e-mails that accumulated for the last week and a half. Our situation is so similiar. Rowan saw Dr. Sherman on Tuesday and gave me another surgeon's name to consider seeing in AL (as well as the oculoplastic surgeon from PA who he says is the best in the country), although I think I may be done with "second" opinions at this point. I really liked the doctor we saw in Atlanta. Are you still interested in getting together soon? I'm available Saturday morning if you're free. Kim -------------- Original message -------------- Hi all.I took Josh back to Dr. Sherman (Tallahassee, FL) today for a re-check. I was concerned that we didn't get a good result from our first sling surgery in July. Dr. Sherman agreed with me. Josh can see, but still tilts his head. The good news was that both eyes are equal, so no patching necessary. We are set to go back to Shands in January, so maybe we'll see how soon he needs another surgery. Guest guest
My surgeon did 7 surgeries on 2 of my boys ....never a problen. (4 months) had surgery 4 weeks agao and her right eye dropped....she is going in for it to be redone on the 28th. Sometimes I think ( maybe not in your case not sure) we blame the surgeon ....but things just happen not all the time is someone at fault. i love our surgeon, and her past track record has been great ...what happened this time is a mystery ...Good Luck! agarrett4337 <agarrett00@...> wrote: Hi all.I took Josh back to Dr. Sherman (Tallahassee, FL) today for a re-check. Guest guest
Kim, Who did you see in Atlanta? Dr. Sherman discussed Rowan's case generically. I knew who he was talking about, but he wouldn't give names of course. He did say that no one is ever happy with the outcome. It never looks great. We are limited now in who we can see because Josh is on Medicaid as a foster child. I may get to adopt him, in which case he can switch to Capital Health Plan and have more options. I think I'm working Saturday - FAMU homecoming, but I would like to get together with you. Guest guest
I am sorry to intrude but this comment from your doctor shocked me, " no one is ever happy with the outcome " . That seems very negative from someone who is being entrusted with the well-being of a child. I also have to say, many people (including me) focus too much on what the young children look like. For some with mild BPES, it may only be an issue of cosmetics, but for others like me and my daughter, we couldn't see before surgery. > > Kim, > Who did you see in Atlanta?
