Guest guest
I find compelled to submit a short response to Dr. Asa's criticism of Congressman Metcalf and his staff. While it may be that the press conference and publicity originally planned unfortunately did not work out as Dr. Asa expected, her intense criticism is unfounded. Congressman Metcalf and his staff are devoted to helping our veterans and current service members, particularly on the anthrax issue. He has been one of our best advocates on the Hill and has been doing so for a lot longer time than most. There is no political agenda present nor does he politically benefit from his support of our cause. Indeed, the issue likely does him harm among his fellow colleagues. This is not a popular issue on the Hill. Sometimes things don't work out the way we hope. And Washington, D.C. and the Congress has peculiarities about them that are not always understood. The bottom line is we should not attack our supporters. We need every one of them. Mark S. Zaid, Esq.
