Guest guest
, I'm with you. I have Cerebral Palsy, I hate that word, I hate the words disability and handicapped too. I used to not tell people I have CP because of what CP can look like, which sounds terriable, I would say,"oh I just have a small limp." and i do have small limp, but other than that, if we met on the street, you'd say "oh, what happen to your foot?" Mostly because you just noticed it for the first time. I hate that some people referred to my grade school as having a "normal" side and a "handicapped side" I went to the "normal side" and went to the "handicapped side" for physical therapy. Honest to God, I never ever saw those kids differently, maybe because I had some troubles walking, I don't know, I know we are to say "special needs" kids now. Please don't think I'm being overly flowery, or living in a dream world, but here it goes, why can't we just call the kids with spacial needs "kids" and the non special needs kids, "kids". I know, it sounds simplistic, but I'm being as real as I can. I really mean what I say. kk
