Guest guest
I have been trying to catch up on reading posts and noticed the discussion regarding infertility due to POF. First, I saw someone posted that " all women in the U.S. have been taken off HRT due to health risks " . I just wanted to encourage whomever wrote that to seek an opinion from a new doctor. I know MANY women ages 20 to 35 who have undergone hysterectomies and entered surgical menopause who are now on hormone replacement therapy. I, myself, had a hysterectomy the same month I turned 30 and have been on HRT ever since. There are actually more health risks for young women if they don't do the HRT. So please talk to your doctor about this option for your daughter. Second, my husband and I decided once we got married that we wanted to build our family through adoption. We never tried to get pregnant. (My having to have a hysterectomy came later and funny enough had nothing to do with us wanting to adopt.) I know many people, most people, want to have biological children. And when faced with the possibility of not being able to do that can feel very helpless, sad, and disappointed. But I just wanted to offer another perspective - I have three BEAUTIFUL, WONDERFUL children who did not grow under my heart, but in it. Adoption is a wonderful option and can bless your lives more than you know. So please don't give up on having children of " your own " . All of my children were adopted - and now they are " my own " . Actually, we finalized Micah's adoption yesterday. (Micah is our son with BPES who came home to us at 3 yrs old.) It was very touching when the judge asked him if he wanted to stay with us and he said yes. He knew yesterday meant our forever family is just that - forever. When we got home he grabbed me, hugged me tight, and said, " Forever Mommy " . I hugged him back knowing that after three and a half years he no longer has to worry - he is home - and we are the lucky ones. Blessings to all, April Eisele, Colorado, USA Wife to Jon Mommy to Mira, Micah & Misha __________________________________ FareChase: Search multiple travel sites in one click. http://farechase.
