Guest guest
Hi everyone! At my recent visit with my endocrinologist (I have a history of Graves disease as well as BPES), I showed him the paper from NORD about Blepharophimosis syndrome. He was fascinated about the mention of the FOX2 in the genetics section. He told me that he's doing research in a related genetics area, and mentioned that there's a protein inhibitor (or something like that!) located in a similar place on the same chromosome; the protein inhibitor has something to do with protection from auto immune disorders. So he asked me to find out if there are instances of anyone else with BPES who also have auto immune disorders (such as Lupus, Graves Disease, Diabetes, etc.). If you have an auto immune disorder as well as BPES, he would be very grateful to find out, to see if they could be related. He asked me to send him the results of this informal " survey. " Thanks for your help! Best wishes, Loka
