Guest guest
Hello everyone I have posted a photo of my beautiful daughter Evie who is now 8. The photo was taken just a few months before she had surgery to lift her lids. I don't have any current photos whicb i can load onto the computer but will get my digital camera out in the next week and post a current one to show the difference. Evie does okay with curious stares which she sometimes still gets but on the whole is a confident girl, loves school, is learning to play the guitar, attends drama classes - and thinks Avril Levigne rocks!! She has been offered further surgery to help reduce the wide bridge of her nose and open her eyes up a bit more but so far she's happy as she is - we'll see what happens when she gets to be a self conscious teenager! We are currently waiting for the results of genetic testing as Evie is displayed signs of early onset puberty which may or may not have implications in later life. It's good to know that we're not alone in this - at times it has been hard to deal with other people's atttitudes (usually based on the fact that they think she has Down's syndrome)but as Evie has got older it has got easier as she can speak out for herself now. Love Shena PS sorry this is so long
