New Member/Web Site Introduction

Greetings, I am a new member to the group.

My name is Pete and I am currently an active duty Major and pilot in the

Air Force with only 4 months to go with an approved separation date. The

Anthrax Vaccination Program is one of the main reasons I am leaving the

military with 14+ years of service. I am being somewhat cautious since I

am still technically in the military, thus I only gave you my first name;

apologies.

I have taken one of the Anthrax series shots and refused the second, my

commanders have quietly left me alone to date since I am so close to

leaving the service and the current DoD " exemptions " guidance seems to

support this (I realize this is not fair to the men and women who may be

undergoing some form of punishment for refusing the anthrax shot, but I

think you will find this is going on at many units currently, my

apologies and support go out to anyone currently being punished for

refusing the shot, I am not receiving any preferential treatment because

of my postilion or rank).

I have experienced periods of extreme dizziness and recurring hip joint

pain from day one of this shot (the hip joint pain is sometimes very

severe). I have not reported this because I am currently seeking follow

on employment with the airlines and must meet the FAA medical

requirements.

Out of pure frustration and to positively channel my energy, I and some

other supporters started a web site back in February, some of you may of

found it at http://aboutanthrax.org.

About Anthrax is a web site published by a group of very concerned

military folks, supporters and family, just as yourselves, who want to

see the Department of Defense Anthrax Vaccination Program stopped

immediately until much further review.

We started this site as a complement to the other sites already on the

web and not to compete, the About Anthrax web site is strictly a not for

profit site and no revenue is gained from the group supporting and

posting this site, we have tried to put links to all the other sites we

have found as well as interesting articles relating to the subject.

We would like to make the focus of our site the " Comments " section, where

we post edited comments from site users with some degree of anonymity if

so desired.

My association with aboutanthrax.org is strictly as a private citizen and

my involvement is in no way associated with my or anyone else's official

military capacity or the fact that I am currently in the active duty

armed forces. Any views expressed in this correspondence or on the About

Anthrax web site by myself or anyone else associated with

aboutanthrax.org are done so as private citizens.

Glad to chat with any of you at any time on this issue or others, hope
