Guest guest
I wish I knew the answer to this. I don't remember now, whether the allegation was just that MMR, or both measles vax alone and MMR, used thimerosal in the manufacturing process. When I get caught up after having been gone, I will try and get more information. THE DECISION WHETHER OR NOT TO VACCINATE IS AN IMPORTANT AND COMPLEX ISSUE AND SHOULD BE MADE BY YOU, AND YOU ALONE, IN CONSULTATION WITH YOUR HEALTH CARE PROVIDER. Guest guest
Not to mention the fact that formaldehyde is carcinogenic, and aluminium is strongly linked with early onset Alzheimer's... Can someone also tell me why vegans and vegetarians often give me a hard time for eating meat, but happily stick vaccines full of bovine products into their children? That smacks of hypocrisy to me too! Along with Catholics who will cheerfully have the MMR and Chickenpox vaxes? I'm a vegetarian and all I can say is knowing this (and all the other fabulous things in and about vaccines) made me stop my daughter from having them ever again!!!! I believe quite a lot of vegetarians don't know this about vaccines. 2 of my friends are very strict veggies, almost vegans, and have small babies and were shocked and upset when I told them this was part of the vaccines they had happily given their children........:-( *sigh* Suzanne SAHM dd Ruby 2.6yrs South Wales

The Catholic response to this issue is that if there isn't any other way for the vaccine to be produced than the disease risk outweighs this issue. I have been in touch with a Priest from EWTN and posted his view on it. It is in the archives. I found a site of doctors in the UK that states the MMR vaccine can be made a different way and, sent it along to this priest. He has written articles and is doing research. If proof is there and, a better vaccine can be made they must change their stance on this. The problem is bioethics and their spin on this. It will probably go like this another vaccine can't be made with the same effectiveness. Of course, there are all the other vaccines that do not contain HDC. It is a difficult issue, isn't it? Cynically, I doubt that the drugs companies would let even the Church come between them and their profits... Here in the UK, so many parents seem unconcerned about the way these vaccines are made. They're expected to vaccinate, so they do. Because we don't have the legislation (yet!) to enforce vaccination, only those of us who are really *anti* tend to know anything about vaccines. The rest just trust the docs...( Love, light and peace, Sue
